Input Device

By default, VoicePad uses your system's default microphone. If you have multiple audio input devices, you can choose a specific one from the Settings tab.

Changing the Microphone

1. Open VoicePad: uvx voicepad
2. Go to the Settings tab
3. Select your preferred microphone from the Input device dropdown
4. Press Save

The dropdown shows all available input devices with their index numbers. If you select system default, VoicePad uses whatever your operating system has set as the default recording device.

Troubleshooting

If you don't see your microphone in the list:

• Make sure it is plugged in and recognised by your operating system
• Check your OS audio settings to confirm the device appears there
• Restart VoicePad after connecting a new device
